Wild Beasts New Single / New Album

I was genuinely pleased to hear the new Wild Beasts single 'Hooting and Howling' this week. It took me a little while to get into the first album but this hit me straightaway. Really beautiful track that builts to a great little hook. Anyway the new album Two Dancers comes out on August 3rd with the single out on July 20th.

Tapes is a lovely new website set up by some fellow Leeds friends.

Each month they record 5 tracks by 5 different artists, they also get 5 different pieces of art/illustration/design/drawing done by 5 different artists.

The art is compiled into a sexy pdf and mailed out to those who sign up, it's also available to download via the website.

Great little idea, and hopefully a site that can continue to grow.

We put our stamp on it, go check it out. They've just done a session with one of our favourite bands 'Tubelord' and also very good friend (and employee) 'Fran Rodgers'.

Neil's Heavy Concept Album (1984)

We were all massive Young Ones fans at school, anyway this kid once gave me a cassette of this album. I finally found a copy of it on vinyl in an Oxfam shop last year, anyway i think it's about time more people heard it. Totally ridiculous, but frankly brilliant.

Bear Hands (Daytrotter Session)

One of our favourite new bands Bear Hands have also featured on the recent 4x12". Recently the band headed over to do a Daytrotter session (which by the way is a most excellent website).
Out of the session came recordings of 2 brand new songs 'Blood and Treasure', 'Belongings' and Long Lean Queen from the Golden E.P.

The band are over in the UK next month and if you can go and see them do it. They're definatly one of the best new bands from the last 2 years.
